amaretto and soda

Amys Gluten Free Pantry

Disaronno Amaretto is gluten-free! (Thank you very much for the confirmation, Celiac.com). This is a really refreshing drink that although tastes like almonds, contains no almonds, but rather apricot kernels. It also happens to be nut-free, so it’s also safe for people with nut allergies. Go figure. Supposedly, the recipe hasn’t changed since 1525, which may account for why it doesn’t happen to bother me at all and sadly, virtually all alcohol bothers me.

Give this ancient liqueur a try. I think you’ll be surprised.

Total time: 1 minute
Yield: 1 drink

ice
1 jigger (1.5 oz) Disaronno Amaretto
Sparkling water (I like San Pellegrino)

  1. Rinse ice and mix remaining ingredients together. Find the proportions that suit you best and enjoy.
